About Us

The SafeHouseBox was invented by people who value privacy.

The concept of the SafeHouseBox was invented back in 2015 when we realized that organizations with the proper technology could use different methods to eavesdrop on private citizens via their mobile devices. This was nothing new in the business world, but what if it was used to monitor the average public? There were simply too many coincidental examples of conversations being had around strange topics and soon thereafter emails being directed to those people about those strange topics – we were sure, they were listening.

Our goal was to create a safe space where people would be confident whatever they were saying or doing was not being recorded by some organization. So we engaged product engineers, software developers, audio specialists and expert carpenters to build an enclosure that could accomplish our directive. After several years and multiple iterations, we invented and patented, the SafeHouseBox.

The key differentiator to the SafeHouseBox versus your ordinary Faraday Box is that signals do come into the SafeHouseBox – deliberately. Faraday products are designed to block all signals, rendering the mobile device useless – we did not want that. We wanted to make sure we would not miss a call, so the SafeHouseBox is designed to let the signals in, and notify the end user of an inbound communication via a series of lights and ringtones.

With the SafeHouseBox, people can ensure privacy while still having a functioning cell phone. The box can be set in the home or office, simply place the phone inside and close the lid – simple and quick. Parents now have a “time out” place for their children’s phones. No more taking their phone to their bedroom where they can be watched by some creep. Families can enlist a “no phones at the dinner table” rule and still have the phone in the kitchen in case someone calls mom for a ride home, you won’t miss the call.

We also wanted to ensure conversations would be kept confidential in the business world, so we decided to use multiple species of wood to align with the décor of all conference rooms.

Our final goal was sustainability. Our concerns for our children’s future extends well beyond company goals, and as companies invent new products, they must embrace the green approach. This is one of the reasons we designed the SafeHouseBox with real wood and recycled insulation from plastic bottles, thus helping achieve our goal of sustainability.
